Question 147:

Answer:

No answer provided yet.

The mid-range is a rarely used statstic. If you're wondering what it is then you're probably being asked to as part of a stats assignment. So much for real-world learning. The midrange is a measure of central tendency, meaning it attempts to find the mid-point of a set of data. Unfortunately it is highly suceptable to outliers (since it uses only the two most extreme points). To find the midrange,. just find the maximum value and the minimum value and divide by 2 to get the mid-range.

For this dataset that equals (3.8-1.2)/2 = 1.3 midrange.
