Part A. The quiz scores are continuously distributed since they can be subdivided into smaller meaningful units. Since we see that the scores contain half-scores (partial credit) and are not proportions correct, we can treat them continuously.

Part B.  We can use MegaStat to develop the frequency distributions (See the attached file) with a histogram.

Part C: The variance (also see sheet for calculations in excel) is 6.4 and the standard deviation is 2.53. Both these values describe the variability around the mean quiz score. The standard deviation is in units squared, so it's harder to interpret. The standard deviation is the square root of the variance and tells us the approximate average distance to the mean for each score is 2.53.
