Question 674:

1

Answer:

No answer provided yet.

The t-distribution is symmetrical and bell-shaped like the normal. It can also be described by using two parameters, the mean and standard deviation. The major difference in the t and normal distributions is there is more area under the tails for the t, since we're dealing with a sample size and not population. The difference in formulas for the t is that the t needs the number of degrees of freedom (sample size-1) whereas the normal assumes you have the whole population so doesn't need the sample size.
