Lets see, so that's three tables for 24 students. For the 1st table we can use a permutation since we are sampling without replacement. The formula is:

  n!
------
(n-j)!

Where n is the total sample of interest and j is the subsample. For this example there are 16 girls and 8 seats, so we have 16!/(16-8)!
